Evolución de las redes eléctricas hacia Smart Grid en países de la Región Andina

Resumen

Uno de los grandes interrogantes actuales está relacionado con la generación y uso de la energía eléctrica, ya que se espera un incremento en los costos de generación, incluidos los países de la Región Andina. Por lo tanto, en este artículo se presenta en primera instancia un análisis de la problemática que conlleva la configuración de los sistemas eléctricos de potencia actuales, luego se plantean algunos componentes importantes y sus requerimientos que dirigen la evolución del sistema de distribución de energía eléctrica hacia Smart Grid, que le brinda mayor inteligencia al sistema (infraestructura de medición avanzada), integrando las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (modelos de arquitecturas de telecomunicaciones), ofreciendo un mayor aprovechamiento de las fuentes de energía alternativa (generación distribuida – micro redes), una más rápida respuesta a los fallos y una adaptación al uso de los vehículos eléctricos (interacción entre red de energía y vehículos eléctricos conectados). Lo anterior de cara a la evolución de Smart Grid en los países de la Región Andina.
