Competencias, aprendizaje activo e indagación: un caso práctico en ingeniería

Resumen

En los últimos años una avalancha de ideas, conceptos, estrategias, metodologías ha venido invadiendo el campo de la formación de ingenieros: aprendizaje cooperativo, aprendizaje basado en problemas, aprendizaje activo, aprendizaje basado en proyectos, “hands-on”, aprendizaje significativo y pedagogías intensivas, entre muchos otros. El panorama se complica, cuando se insiste en la importancia de desarrollar competencias en los ingenieros, para lo cual hay que definirlas, “enseñarlas” y luego evaluarlas.

Finalmente, para completar este caos, se desean introducir las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación. Un cierto sabor de eclecticismo parece invadir la docencia en ingeniería. Este artículo presenta un ejemplo de un curso basado en el concepto de indagación. Esta aproximación puede constituirse en un marco conceptual coherente que permite concatenar y seleccionar diferentes estrategias pedagógicas. El trabajo propone un nuevo modelo conceptual para el aprendizaje producto de la síntesis de dos modelos previamente desarrollados.
